I'm enjoying "Chasing Venus" very much. One question: while you write in British English--spelling the word "organise" instead of "organize," for instance--I notice you refer to the distance between the Earth and the Sun in miles rather than kilometers. I'm afraid I really don't know; is it an astronomical custom to express the distance in miles even in countries that use the metric system?

It is a great book!
